How Was Your Day?

So I was reading this book “Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us” by Seth Godin. I was on a page where he gave an example of why some of us work while on vacation. He said he was doing this and he realized he was noticed by a couple nearby. He overheard the couple say how sad it was that some people can’t even relax on their vacations, that they ‘have to’ do their work stuff. They can’t even get a break for two weeks or less…
Then Godin, (I am totally paraphrasing), commented that he loves to wake up in the middle of the night to check his emails. He said he does it because he is so passionate about what he does.

So, I was thinking how I created oneTRUEzone for that very reason. I want the world to love and be passionate about what they do. I am committed to making that happen. I want to help as many people—now college students in particular—find out what they are meant to do, what they will love to do, and show them how!

Then, a funny thing occurred to me. It is Sunday afternoon. I am sitting on the beach on Long Beach Island in New Jersey. I AM on vacation, and guess what? I am working. I am doing exactly what I LOVE to do. I am hunting for the pearls of wisdom that others need to share about how to get my message out there, and how to build a community that I can lead to spread the word about what I am up to. I love reading and learning everything I can about how to help others excel in life, how to tap their potential, and how to find their ideal work path.

And in the book, Seth Godin asks the question, “How was your Day?” And it is that very question that I am striving to have students answer differently than their parents would answer, or perhaps differently than the great majority of the working world would answer. I hope to inspire and teach everyone who is craving to answer that question with this response:

“It was GREAT. In fact, it is GREAT EVERY DAY!”
