So You Want to Make A Lot of Money in Your Chosen Career?

In my view, there are 3 secrets to making this happen. Having worked in the financial services industry specializing in investments for most of my adult life, while also practicing psychotherapy, and now building oneTRUEzone, I learned a few things that may be helpful to you in choosing your career.

The following 3 secrets work together amazingly well.

#1 Jumps right out at me: Love what you do.


#2 You have natural talents in the field you choose, and using the tools and having experience gives you a personal sense of your potential to be great.

#3 Surround yourself with the right people

Here is how the secrets all work together:

1. If you love—really love— what you do, you won’t mind doing it A LOT, you won’t be counting the hours, you won’t be living for the weekend, you WILL be having fun, and feeling fulfilled As a result, your creative juices, your natural talents, will come out regularly, and that impacts #2

2. When you love what you do, it makes you even better at what you are learning and doing. You will create more and better, you will dig deeper, and you will do higher quality work. Your energy has the potential to be contagious; those around you will feel your passion and enthusiasm. And let me tell you, this can translate into money, bigger money, for you. Once you learn how to translate what I call your OTZ into helping you make more money (should you want to), this is where #3 comes in.


3. Now, what if you choose (or chose) a career that is not too financially lucrative, or doesn’t meet your financial goals or needs? Or, what if you just want to make boatloads of money doing what you love, but don’t know how? What, if anything, having to do with money and finance is just not your thing? What to do?

This is where your community of people “in the know” and those you surround yourself with will be incredibly valuable. They can help design the plan to increase your income. Here is where you also need to be careful in selecting who you get support and advice from. Most of us know individuals who know more than we do about certain things. What we want to do is carefully choose the people who are willing to help, who are financially successful or saavy, who must love what they do and are always willing or wanting to help others. They may be connectors, too.

These are the people who will feel great teaching and supporting you in taking it to the next level. So tap them for whatever you need in order to learn. You will get the ideas or connections. You need to take what you are doing and make more money doing it. Be patient, but don’t stop. If you are passionate and truly love what you do, if it is calling you, undoubtedly you will want to find out what you need to know and do to get others to “Show You the Money”!!! You will do almost anything, (within your comfort level that is), if you get to live this life by design, continuing to do what you love and loving what you do.

So, go for it! As I see it, there is only one way to go, and that is UP!
