Is Cupid’s Arrow Pointing at a Career You Will Love? Are You Willing to Put in the Time to Find Out?

A study by Iowa State University reports that the average couple spends 3 ½ years dating before committing to marriage. Here, at oneTRUEzone, we wonder why we are so willing to spend time doing our homework prior to committing to marriage, yet so negligent in doing our homework prior to committing to a career? After all, we live with both our marriage and career choices for years to come.

According to a Gallup poll reported by Entrepreneur Magazine, only 6% of Americans say they love their jobs. Studies show that when you love your job, you are more productive and experience less stress than someone who does not love his or her job. Confucius said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

Click on the link below to read about how one aspiring artist turned chemist, ended up living her dream in an artistic career as a graphic designer:

http://workawesome.com/career/the-importance-of-doing-what-you-love/

By sheer luck, Stephanie did ultimately find a career that she loves. But had she taken the time to research careers in chemistry, taken a moment to discover what truly makes her happy, or even spent a little time speaking with someone working in the chemical field, Stephanie could have made the same discoveries much earlier.

How can you avoid the pain of finding yourself working in a field that is clearly not the right fit? How can you identify the career you will love, before investing your time and money educating yourself for a career that may not bring you happiness or fulfillment? Lucky for you, this is exactly what oneTRUEzone is all about! Here are three steps you can start taking TODAY to get you on the right path:

1. Each evening, for the next week, write down the five things you enjoyed most that day. At the end of the week, review your findings and narrow your list down to the top three things you LOVE doing every day. Keep this short list as a reminder of what makes you happy on a regular basis. This will become invaluable on your quest to find a career you will LOVE.

2. Take a few minutes to read over the 100 careers listed on the whitepaper that lives at the bottom of our homepage. Write down the careers that interest you, and think about the keywords associated with them. Do any of these key words apply to you?

3. Set some time aside to speak with at least one person in your life that you admire. Ask that person about their career, their daily duties, what he or she feels are the best and worst parts of his or her job and the path he or she took to get there. Get in the habit of asking questions, so that you are constantly absorbing as much information as you can from the sources around you. The more that you know, the better off you will be.

Remember, oneTRUEzone has created an extensive program to help you find the career that will be the right for YOU and will help make you happy. We know how incredibly important it is to find a career that you will love! The best part is, we are here to coach you every single step of the way - but the program starts with YOU! So take some time to get pumping through the three steps above! This will give you a great start to begin thinking about where you fit in the great big puzzle of life!

Landing Yourself in the Big Time Through Positive Thinking, Hard Work & Perseverance

Ever wonder how the big players make it into the big leagues? Keep reading…

“Maybe I was just naïve thinking that I could play at the same level. When I got there, people may have thought I was crazy. But my mentality was different from that of a normal recruit coming in who had been heavily recruited. I wanted to be the best, and I knew it was going to take hard work, but I was willing to do that.”

The quote above is from a former student who played football as a second-string linebacker, and wanted nothing more than to play on his college team. At 5’5 and 125 lbs, he had fallen under the radar of college football recruiting, and ended up going to college without that coveted football scholarship. In a desperate attempt to prove himself, he decided to try to play college football as a team walk- on.

Why bother telling the story of someone that seems so mediocre?

The person quoted above, is the very same person who was responsible for the play that sealed the Green Bay Packer’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers during Sunday’s Super Bowl. It’s the story of Clay Matthews.

Growing up, Clay had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the ins and outs and ups and downs of professional football by shadowing his father and his uncle. In Clay’s mind, there was no doubt that not only would he go on to play pro ball, but that he would also work his hardest to become one of the best. In his two seasons as a USC walk-on, Clay tested his limits and poured his heart and soul into becoming the best player he could be.

“Success came from a lot of hard work in the weight room, film room, and at practices. I feel very fortunate to be the player I am today, and I can pretty much say that it was all because of hard work.” –Clay Matthews
